Assistant Professor, Shenzhen University, College of Electronic and Information Engineering

Yapeng Zhao received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC), University of Macau, in August 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Shaodan Ma and Prof. Qingqing Wu. He received the B.Eng. degree from Jilin University in 2017 and the M.Eng. degree from Shanghai University in 2020, where he was jointly trained at the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

His current research interests include intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), integrated sensing and communications (ISAC), integrated sensing, communications, and computation (ISCC), multi-modal ISAC, and immersive communication. He has a strong background in wireless communications and mathematical skills, especially the non-convex optimization for wireless communication system. He has published several papers on wireless communication systems inclouding 5 first author journal papers. with total google scholar citations.

  • Integrated sensing, communication, and computation (ISCC): joint waveform, beamforming, resource allocation, and task-computation design.

  • Intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS/RIS): passive beamforming, wireless-powered systems, federated learning, and over-the-air computation.
